Refund Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to all Gotcha subscription purchases. By subscribing, you confirm you have read and accept these terms.
Merchant of Record
Paddle.com Market Ltd (“Paddle”) is the merchant of record for all Gotcha purchases. Refunds are issued by Paddle on our behalf and follow the rules below.
Waiver of statutory withdrawal right
Gotcha is a digital service that begins to be supplied to you immediately upon purchase. By starting your subscription you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU. The contractual refund window described below is the remedy we offer in its place.
7-day refund window (first charge only)
You may request a full refund within 7 days of your first paid subscription charge, for any reason. This is a one-time courtesy window so you can confirm the Service is right for you.
Renewals are not refundable
Subscription renewals (monthly or annual) are charged automatically at the start of each new period and are not refundable. You have continuous access to your account history and the cancel option throughout your subscription, so any decision to discontinue can be made before the renewal date.
To avoid being charged for a renewal: cancel your subscription before the renewal date from your account page or via Paddle’s customer portal (the link is in every receipt email). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
Mandatory exceptions (always refundable)
Regardless of the 7-day window, we will refund the affected charge in the following cases:
- Billing errors: duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, charges to a closed account.
- Unauthorized charges: charges you did not authorize (suspected fraud).
- Material service failure: the Service was unavailable for an extended period that prevented meaningful use during a substantial portion of the billing period.
- We terminate your account without cause: a pro-rated refund of unused subscription time.
Cancellation vs refund
These are different actions:
- Cancellation: stops future renewal charges. You keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Does not refund prior payments.
- Refund: reverses a past payment. Available only within the 7-day window on first charge, or in the mandatory-exception cases above. Your access ends when the refund is processed.
How to request a refund
Two paths:
- Via Paddle: reply to the receipt email you received from Paddle and ask for a refund. Paddle’s support team handles the request directly.
- Via us: email support@gotcha.wiki with your account email and the date of the charge. We’ll process the refund through Paddle on your behalf if eligible.
Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your card issuer or payment method.
Free trials
If we offer a free trial, you are not charged during the trial period. The card on file is charged only when the trial converts to a paid subscription. You can cancel before the trial ends from your account page to avoid any charge.
Chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer, please contact us or Paddle — eligible refund cases are resolved faster by direct request. Chargebacks that bypass our refund process may result in account suspension while the dispute is investigated, in line with Paddle’s anti-fraud policies.
